Financial literacy teacher
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: The main duty of the Financial literacy teacher is to implement and monitor financial literacy classes to at least 90 vocational training participants identified by ICMC in Irbid and Mafraq.
Specific Duties
The financial literacy teacher is responsible for the implementation and monitoring of ICMC financial literacy program, which aims at improving the financial literacy of 90 vulnerable Syrian and Jordanian individuals, in the key areas of knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviors, for better financial decisions and financial outcomes. This financial literacy program focuses on household budget and financial management; it does not cover business budget management.
In order to successfully achieve this mission, s/he will:
Review, and adapt if necessary, the financial literacy curriculum developed by ICMC;
Develop pre- and post-classes tests to monitor the increase in knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviors of the participants;
Develop session plans with a clear outline identifying learning objectives;
Plan classes in Irbid and Mafraq and ensure appropriate logistical arrangements are made;
Deliver quality classes, using a participative and inclusive approach, to at least 90 vulnerable Syrian and Jordanian males and females;
Collect and track attendance for each session;
Monitor satisfaction of participants and adapt the methodology as necessary;
Report to the Team Leader on a daily basis and inform him/her of project progresses, challenges and solutions taken.
Communication and Coordination:
Establish good and regular communication with project beneficiaries and ICMC partners as relevant;
Establish good communication and coordination with all ICMC departments and project staff
Other duties:
Assist with various administrative duties, as required by the Team Leader
Strictly follow the ICMC internal procedures and guidelines
Required Qualifications:
University degree in Economics, Business, Education, or any relevant field;
Demonstrated experience in teaching and/or delivering trainings, and in developing teaching materials and monitoring tools;
Proven knowledge of financial literacy topics, experience in implementing financial literacy classes and/or livelihoods activities is preferred;
Relevant experience in the humanitarian sector is preferred;
Proven skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, in particular Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Fluency in Arabic, English would be an advantage
