Program Coordinator- ALC
Position Overview:
The Program Coordinator- ALC, provides assistance in managing the training and administrative operations of the American Language Center (ALC)’s English language program at AMIDEAST Jordan. S/He supports the marketing activities& development efforts of the ALC, facilitates, curriculum development& assessment planning under the guidance of the Program Manager and AMIDEAST’s regional experts, assists the Program Manager in teachers’ performance reviews& professional development, and provides teacher orientation& training when relevant to Program objectives.

Role and Responsibilities:
• Support the Program Manager in ensuring that AMIDEAST and ALC objectives are met,
• Support and contribute in the marketing and business development of the ALC program,
• Assist the Program Manager in supervising teachers to ensure successful delivery of quality English language teaching,
• Provide academic and administrative guidance to teachers,
• Coordinate with Program Manager Classes’ timetabling and teachers’ class assignment,
• Coordinate classroom monitoring, training and implementation of cultural curriculum with instructors,
• Assist the Program Manager in coordinating quality assurance activities; includes program and curricula reviews, testing reviews, student achievement tracking, and timely reporting to external clients,
• Assist the Program Manager in undertaking staff appraisal and professional development,
• Develop up-to-date content for American cultural components, to include online materials and support to instructors, offering training where necessary,
• Assist in the preparation of topics and the leading of meaningful dialogues/discussions of social and cultural issues encountered in film and book club meetings,
• Demonstrate professional behavior at all times,
• Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to comply fully with AMIDEAST requirements,
• Other tasks requested by direct line manager, and/or Country Director.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Education, English Language, or any related field,
• Minimum (2) Years of relevant experience coordinating English language courses, and supervising and/or training teachers,
• Minimum (5) Years of English language teaching experience, preferably in the MENA region,
• Extensive knowledge of English language teaching methods, approaches, and materials,
• Experience in curriculum development and assessment planning preferred,
• Necessary extensive understanding for the life and culture of the United States,
• Native or near-native speaker of English.
