Action Against Hunger is an international non-governmental organization working in more than 40 countries in the fields of nutrition, food security and livelihoods, water sanitation and hygiene, and care practices. Action Against Hunger is looking for its program in Jordan for Rehabilitation Supervisor – WASH - IRBID.
Work place: IRBID
Monthly Basic Salary Range: JOD 1052
Specific Objectives:
To supervise the projects include WASH facilities rehabilitation in Irbid base.
Main Objectives:
Objective 1: Ensure management of activities of WASH facilities rehabilitation in line with proposal and directions from WASH DPM Rehabilitation and water connection
Supervise the work of the contractors, and provide them with directions and instructions on regular basis, including oversees the day-to-day construction activities in different project locations.Liaison with contractors and report on the project activities.Determine Water Technician requirements by conducting inspections and analytical tests and analyzing data.Monitor the progress of the WASH facilities rehabilitation and ensure it is implemented as per the specifications, within budget, plans, time schedules and quality standards.In collaboration with WASH DPM Rehabilitation and water connection to plan the activities according to the development of the projects.Carry out regular daily field visits to monitor and follow up on the implementation of the ongoing activities, identify and anticipate problems or constraints and propose solutions and possible improvements.Keep updating and archiving the follow up and progress data in an organized way to be used a reference and to be analyzed in addition to monitor the activities’ indicators.Monitor the quality of materials used in the project and report the materials that do not meet the specifications and requirements to WASH DPM Rehabilitation and water connection.Ensure compliance with ACF policies, SOPs and guidelines.Develop and ensure applying safety procedures and standards.

Objective 2: Lead, Monitor, evaluate and provide sufficient technical resources to the team
Provide direction, assign tasks and give instructions to staff. Also, specify their individual work plans and evaluate the performance.Support the assigned staff in their professional development, identify training needs, support staff to achieve the objectives defined in their learning development plans and provide them with the necessary training and technical support.Develop monthly plans with the assigned team.Carry out appraisals and evaluate the supervised team.Participate in the recruiting process.Report training needs to manager.Assist in the implementation of training sessions on the base.Explain and ensure application of the water, sanitation, hygiene and water management methodologies.Organize the work of the team to optimize the capacity of each team member.Provide direction, assigns tasks and gives instructions to staff, specifies their individual work plans and evaluates individual team members’ performance.Assist in the implementation of training sessions in the area of competence.
Objective 3: Reporting, including Activity Progress, quality plan implementation and field updates and needs
Report over the achieved activities, provide analysis over the performed activities and identify obstacles that hinder the execution.Identify, analyze and evaluate processes and gaps in the implementation phase and make recommendations for improvement.Produce and ensure follow up the implementation plans of the construction activities and report the progress to the WASH DPM Rehabilitation and water connection.Prepare engineering reports by collecting, analyzing, summarizing data and trends, entering data and generating reports and presentations and performing calculations.Build BoQs of materials and equipment on monthly basis as per plans and with respect to field requirements, and report the conditions of the used tools and equipment to the WASH DPM Rehabilitation and water connection.Write weekly and monthly reports and provide the sequence of activities for the WASH DPM Rehabilitation and water connection when needed.Participate in drafting and analyzing monthly reports that the HoP is in charge of.
Objective 4: Participate in Meetings and Coordination tasks
Upon WASH DPM Rehabilitation and water connection request, participate in meetings and events of WASH meetings.Represent ACF in coordination meetings when the WASH PM / DPM are not available or upon their request.Support other ACF teams when needed; service, finance, HR, Admin and Logistics, M&E department and any other work related departments or stakeholders.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Academic Background:
Diploma - Level of studies Civil Engineering degree (B.Sc.). or in Water and Sanitation Engineer - Construction Engineer - Plumbing Engineer
Previous experience needed:
Two years’ experience of working in construction sites and dealing with contractors / INGO experience.Previous experience in working in complex and dynamic contexts.
Personal requirements:

-Good technical writing skills.
-Flexibility – dynamism – pro-activeness.
-Problem solving skills, and creative and innovative thinking.
-IT and Computer software skills (Excel).

Spoken and written proficiency in English and Arabic
