Care Group Supervisor
Action Against Hunger is an international non-governmental organization working in more than 40 countries in the fields of nutrition, food security and livelihoods, water sanitation and hygiene, and care practices. ACF is looking for its program in Jordan for Care Group Supervisor.
Work place: Azraq Refugee Camp
Monthly Basic Salary Range: 1052 JOD
Specific Objectives:
The Care Group Supervisor leads program planning and provides strategic direction to care group (CG) facilitators working with the Lead Mothers. Ensure internal and external reporting and documentation requirements are on-time and accurate, assess staff capacities and coordinate initial or ongoing trainings based on need and program goals. Plays lead role in the orientation and training of new care group facilitators. Prepare a monthly report using the information provided by Care Group facilitators; The Care Group Supervisor will be the line manager of the care group facilitator. The Care Group Supervisor will be reporting the Hygiene Promotion Deputy Project Manager.
Main Objectives:
Objective 1: Manages and provide support to the Care Group facilitators for them to effectively support the work of the Lead mothers (LM).
Activities:
- Reviews flip chart lesson plans with care group facilitators and ensure they understand the information well and can teach the information in a participatory manner
- Ensures that CG facilitators have the supplies necessary to do their jobs (e.g., registers, flip charts, lesson plans)
- Plays a role in the recruitment, monitoring, following up, orientation and training of CG Facilitators
- Responsible for the performance and professional development of CG facilitators that report to him/her
- Assesses staff capacities and coordinates initial or ongoing trainings based on need and program goals.
- Contribute on designing and planning for activities through the LM sessions and global day’s event.
- Lead together with the care group team on the preparation of procurement plan and requesting the required materials.
- Design and Development of context relevant IEC material (Information Education Communication).
- Following day-to-day logistics, administration, and staff activities.
Objective 2: Ensure accurate and timely information is provided by the CG facilitators and is compiled and send to Hygiene Promotion Deputy Project Manager.
Activities:
- Collects CG facilitators reports on a monthly basis, reviews the reports and ensures the information presented is reasonable and complete
- Compile the information provided by the CG facilitators in weekly as well as monthly reports
- Ensures that internal and external reporting and documentation requirements are on-time and accurate
- Supervises in the field each Promoter who reports to him/her at least once per month, conducts Quality Improvement Verification checklists (QIVCs) and completes all sections of the Supervisor supportive supervision checklist every quarter
- Maintains a filing system in the project office so copies of Supervisor and Promoter reports, and quality improvement and verification checklists (QIVCs) are easily accessible.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Academic Background
University degree on Social Since, community mobilization, Public Health, or any relevant studies.
Previous experience needed:
Three demonstrative years of experience in hygiene promotion and health education activities at international and national, two years’ experience at least in a similar position in managing staff member. Have previous experience in working at camp context with Refugees.
Personal requirements:
Excellent oral and written communication skills, good organisational skills, energetic and dynamic, very good at engaging with people, experienced in M&E work including assessment, research, collecting and reporting on data, etc.
Languages Skills:
English language skills are required
Computer Skills:
Very strong skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
