is recruiting for its project in Irbid and Mafraq

CONTEXT

Médecins Sans Frontières is a private, non-profit international humanitarian organization dedicated to providing medical assistance to populations in crisis, without discrimination and regardless of race, religion, creed or political affiliation. Médecins Sans Frontières is running a Mental Health Clinic providing psychological care to Syrian refugees children under 18 years old in Irbid and Mafraq and is seeking a Translator.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The translator is responsible to provides oral and written Arabic/English translation to MSF staffHe/she translates directly the precise meaning of any statement made from English to Arabic (or Arabic to English) without any prejudice or hindranceHe/she calls the patients of the psychologist to book their appointmentsHe/she does translation for meetingHe/she attends clinical supervision proposed by the employerHe/she remains in a neutral position regarding to the feelings, beliefs and facts expressed by a speakerHe/she keeps completely confidential all the information is hearing or seeing, even among MSF teamHe/she follows the ethical principles of Mental Health caregivers

PROFILE

Certificate or Diploma in English is requiredRequired 2 years experience as a translatorWritten and spoken English and Arabic fluency is requiredPrevious experiences in psycho-social field and/or with Syrian refugee population is a plusOrganized, flexible, able to work under pressureCommunication skillsStrong sense of integrity and good team spiritHas to feel comfortable in dealing with childrenJordanian nationality

WORK LOCATION:           Irbid and Mafraq – Jordan

CONTRACT:                        Fixed term contract – Full Time – 3 months

Probable start date:       April 2018
