Base Logistic Manager - IRBID
VACANCY NOTICE
Action Against Hunger is an international non-governmental organization working in more than 40 countries in the fields of nutrition, food security and livelihoods, water sanitation and hygiene, and care practices. ACF is looking for its program in Jordan for Base Logistic Manager - IRBID.
Work place: IRBID
Monthly Basic Salary Range: JOD 1497
Specific Objectives:
Implement the logistics policy of the mission to ensure good logistical performance and provide the best possible support to the programs throughout his/her zone.
Main Objectives:
Mission 1 : Provide leadership in the area of activity
The Logistics Manager is responsible for:
monitoring and analysing logistical indicators in his/her zoneassessment of the logistical capacities of his/her zonesupport to Program Managers in the assessment of their needs (procurement plan, designation of items needed…)
Mission 2 : Implement and ensure the performance of the supply chain
The Logistics Manager is responsible for:
ensuring conformity with ACF procedures at each stage of the supply chainperformance in respect of costs, quality and timeliness in the supply chain (purchasing, transport, stock) throughout his/her zoneadvice, information and alerts on the processing of requests to the requesterscomprehensive knowledge of the market in his/her zonecheck and validate the procurement dossier of his/her basetimely and high quality reporting on his/her area of activity
Mission 3 : Implement and ensure the performance of facilities management
The Logistics Manager is responsible for:
safety of the working and living environmentprovision and maintenance of logistical equipmentsecurity of logistical equipment, training and assistance to userssupervision of the building, rehabilitation and maintenance required for the functioning of the base and the living environmentprovision of water and energy supplies to all buildings required for the functioning of the base and the living environmenttimely and high quality reporting on his/her area of activity
Mission 4 : Implement and ensure the performance of information and communication technology and network management
The Logistics Manager is responsible for:
the security of both equipment and its userssupport the ICT manager in training and support to users, as well as maintenance of ICT equipment.Support the ICT manager in monitoring of assets.rationalisation of the costs of equipment utilisationassistance to the Head of Logistics Department in the strategic choice of equipment
Mission 5 : Contribute to security management
The Logistics Manager is responsible for:
working with the Field Coordinator on the definition of a local security planputting in place security guidelines for the base and ensuring they are properly applied
Mission 6 : Setting in place and following up collaboration and coordination in logistics with the mission's partners
The Logistics Manager is responsible for:
analysing the risks in logistical matters and formulating recommendations concerning the selection of partnersimplementing and monitoring the modes of logistics management in the framework of joint projectsestablishing with the partner the logistical aspects of partnership conventions and agreements ensuring that the undertakings of ACF and its partners on logistics matters are respectedplaying a role in consolidating the capacities of partners where a need is identifiedat base level, taking full advantage of all innovative practices in the management of partnerships
Mission 7 : Manage the Logistics team in the base
The Logistics Manager is responsible for:
day-to-day management of his/her team (guidance, follow-up, motivation)evaluating the performance and developing the skills of his/her team members
Mission 8: Support Logistics teams in other bases:
The Logistics Manager is responsible for:
provide temporary support to other bases log teams provide training to other bases
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Academic Background:Bachelor degree: An engineering degree in logistics / industrial engineering, or other technical field.
Previous experience needed:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in private sector, preferably in supply chain or logistics fields.Some NGO experience (preferably in Logistics) is a plus.
Personal requirements:
Interested in working in the NGO environment, and should be in line with / adhere to the values / ethical setup of the humanitarian field.Possess strong planning, management, communication and coordination skills, with the ability to organize a substantial workload comprised of complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities.Demonstrated attention to detail, following procedures, meeting deadlines and effective organizational, prioritization and result management.Prove excellent / strong negotiation and representation skills.Proficient at MS Office suite.
Languages Skills:
Excellent verbal and written English skills.
